@steph – It is a little hard since you are a vegan but I found the char kuay teow at Laksa Me pretty good!

@Divina – Thanks. I miss bits of each country that I visit. I know I will miss the babi guling and bebek in Bali when I leave.

@Rochelle – True. Mum is a terrible cook but I still miss her soups!

@Christine – We are very spoilt for choices. So many different foods here but I do crave nice tropical fruits at times and they are expensive. Like mangosteen, starfruit and rambutan.

Many of my friends living up here in Brisbane said to me, “If you go to Melbourne, you’ll love it.” I believe it’s true.

I went to Melbourne many years ago. I still remember there were many restaurants offer authentic, ethnic foods in different suburbs. You guys are very lucky and can taste so many delicious foods at cheap price whenever you want.

I personally miss everything my mother cooks even though I make it myself here. It’s that bit of ‘extra’ that you can’t get on your own . AS for home as in Portland, Oregon where I used to live, I miss the cheese there. Tillamook Cheese is the best

I think I could still relate even if I’m actually home. But I do miss the other foods where I used in live which was Vancouver. The truth is they have better dimsum in Vancouver then in Metro Manila. I believe it’s invasion of HK people last 1997. I also miss the Farmer’s Market in Vancouver. They are way so much better than here. And I also miss some authentic Swiss food in Switzerland. Nice to meet you Lisa. Nice choice Penny.

What I miss: since I moved to Melbourne in July, I still haven’t found a good char kuay teow (or a good laska – made hard because I am vegan. most places go too kelapa, not enough assam)
