		<description><![CDATA[We have not visited Coconut House after its recent renovation. We walked past it several times as we head to Rose Garden at times for lunch. Coconut House is hardly empty. It is always buzzing and I think even more so after its renovation. What caught my eye that fateful Saturday was the poster of a bowl of wonton noodles. I must have it. A little queue won't kill right?

Both of us have a soft spot for cendol and was please to find it on the new menu. The Coconut House Cendol Special was served with soya bean and gula malacca (palm sugar). It was not as we expected. The cendol was not well made and just did not work with the soya bean. It is probably more healthy than having coconut milk instead but soya bean lacked the flavour.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I need to take a break from all the feasting after this hectic 2 weeks of eating and drinking. It all started a couple of weeks before Chinese New Year where we spent my weekends making pineapple tarts, cashew nut cookies and kuih bangkit. And I made heart-shaped ones because the first day of Chinese New Year falls on Valentine's Day as well. So more love around for everyone!
A small group of us decided to celebrate both eve and first day of Chinese New Year together. And our place were opened to them. On the eve, we opted to have steamboat. As usual, I volunteered to shop and make 2 types of broth for the evening. The night before was the 30th birthday of 2 friends. Mister and I were shopping totally hungover. We were not a pretty sight. But the party must go on and so we dragged our sorry self to the markets.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[My weekends are always filled with cooking challenges that I set for myself. I have failures and triumphs as many of you would have read about it on my blog.  And just last weekend, I decided to crack, grate and squeeze my very first fresh coconut milk. It was a very messy affair but I did receive a lot of help of twittverse. And I will like to thank @tomatom for lending me a coconut grater.

I do recall that Grandma will buy grated coconut from the Indian/Pakistani stores in the wet market. She will then squeeze the life out of them to make curries and other delicious desserts. I found a version of the grater on youtube. It is pretty innovative and I wish I had one of these at home. :) ]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Flipping through the Nyonya recipe book, I realised that the Nyonyas &#038; Peranakans have very sweet tooth. The most common ingredients used are sugar, glutinous rice, coconut milk  and pandan or banana leaves.

This is one of the many dessert recipes that I will try making. It is a simple glutinous rice pudding and I am sure it will satisfy anyone who loves the big sugar hit. You will be able to find the glutinous rice and pandan leaves in almost any Asian grocery shops. Just note that it is hard to find fresh pandan leaves here so they will be stored in the freezer. I made the mistake of not checking when I was in Footscray. Mister drove me all the way to Richmond and then realisation hit me. Duh~~~ ]]></description>
