Addictive and consuming Melbourne restaurants

Station Hotel, Footscray

It has been claimed that Footscray is fortunate to have Station Hotel as a local. We have been there on several occassions and it is a nice casual pub that serves good food, beers and even has a decent wine list. The pub is spilt into 3 areas. The front area where it houses the pool table and some high and low tables. The proper dining room area is at the back where usually customers with booking are served. And there is a lovely small courtyard area for those that choose to sit outdoors.

Sapa Hills, Footscray

It has been awhile since we have tried anything new places in Footscray. We always end up in the same Pho restuarants or just grabbing some roast duck takeaway from Golden Harvest. There has been a couple of new faces but for some reason we stayed away and preferred to stick to the oldies but goodies.

We have walked past this restaurant several times and never thought of going in. It was very modern and it seems like what Phil said, is the new generation of restaurants that we popping up in this area. Anyway, after reading Ms Baklover’s review and also having a chat with Phil Lees at the Eat Drink Blog conference, a decision was made to visit Sapa Hills, the newish kid on the block to try the Bo La Lot.

Golden Harvest Seafood Restaurant

Richmond and Prahran has Pacific House and South Melbourne has Linx to provide the community with delicious Chinese roasts. Living in the North West, we have Golden Harvest that caters to our needs. We do regular visits to Footscray on the weekends to pick up Chinese/ Asian groceries. And sometimes, we will take away a box of roast duck, crispy pork belly and/or BBQ pork.

My champion of doughnuts

New insights and foods are discovered when one moves to into a new area. I moved to the North West a few years ago. So we moved from Preston market to Footscray market. Maybe the standard of the fresh food isn’t as appealing as Victoria or Pharan market. But it has a rough soul that is characteristic of the area.
