		<description><![CDATA[I am sure many Australians are aware who Donna Hay is.  I have never really been a big fan of Donna Hay but in her recent 50th Anniversary edition, I could not help myself but to bake the chocolate cake that was on the cover. Of course, mine did not look anywhere like hers. So I said yes when Mardi of Eat.Live.Write.Travel asked me to participate in a Hay Hay it's Donna Day event (HHDD) that was initiated by Chez Us, I had to say yes and hoping to redeem myself. ]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Masterchef Australia has began and in its first challenge, the contestants were told to create something from their childhood memories. We were away in Hobart and so I missed out on that series but I heard that almost everyone had tears! I guess that is the part of being on reality TV. They need tears and stories to hit top ratings. I am sure they succeeded. Even though many will think that contestants should not cry on TV but if it is something touching as childhood memories, then I am sure tears will flow irregardless. It is just that TV makes use of the opportunity to capture it as this is what most audience are after. They love the tears and it is something to bitch about.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I thought I was prepared this week. I even bookmarked a couple of recipes. But as usual, I always give myself too much to do but this time, I do have a good excuse. It is New Year celebrations and I do have a very good friend in town so cooking has been placed on the back burner. Baking is definitely not one of my fortes. So a little tired from all the New Year celebration, I crazily decided to choose the souffle over the pudding for this week's challenge. I had most of the ingredients except for the icing sugar required for dusting.

Anyway it was a lovely Sunday morning and there was always time for a sweet soufflé before we headed out for lunch. It had been a long time since I made my last soufflé and I was a little apprehensive. This recipe has few ingredients and I did adapt it a little as usual. I found this cookbook, Women's Weekly - Old Fashioned Favourites, at the back of the book shelf. So many yummy baking delights and I am so glad I found it. ]]></description>

And of course, I had to guard the communal freezer to make sure the ice cream tubs are still sealed and no one had stick their hands into the cookie jar ;)

		<description><![CDATA[Flipping through the Nyonya recipe book, I realised that the Nyonyas &#038; Peranakans have very sweet tooth. The most common ingredients used are sugar, glutinous rice, coconut milk  and pandan or banana leaves.

This is one of the many dessert recipes that I will try making. It is a simple glutinous rice pudding and I am sure it will satisfy anyone who loves the big sugar hit. You will be able to find the glutinous rice and pandan leaves in almost any Asian grocery shops. Just note that it is hard to find fresh pandan leaves here so they will be stored in the freezer. I made the mistake of not checking when I was in Footscray. Mister drove me all the way to Richmond and then realisation hit me. Duh~~~ ]]></description>
