African Day 2010 – Bobotie

by jeroxie May 24, 2010

First of all, I will like to thank Casey of Eating, Garden & Living in Bulgaria for organising an African Day event to learn and experience the African culture through food.

I love Moroccan cuisine. The colours of the food is very bold to match their aromatic spices. As usual, I like to take myself out of the comfort zone and also wanted to make sure of this opportunity to explore other African foods.

Beef ragu pasta

by jeroxie May 23, 2010

We missed out on Gaswork this Saturday and so headed to Melbourne Showground farmers’ market on Sunday. It isn’t my first choice for farmers market. The selection and variety is quite poor and I really hope that with the pick up in crowd, there will be some improvement soon. Maybe I am just spoilt from the offerings of St. Kilda, Gaswork, Collingwood and Slow food. Variety and quality is definitely welcomed. St. Kilda Farmers market

by jeroxie July 5, 2009

I’ve been enoying the trips to farmers market every Saturday lately. It is such a change from Victoria & Footscray market were most stall holders are too busy to have a chat and seems to be in a rush all the time.

St. Kilda farmers market (Peanut Farm Reserve, Chaucer St, St. Kilda) happens every 1st week of the month. As usual, it will be good to early. It has a really strong sense of community vibe. Toddlers running around, parents relaxing on the chairs and tables spread out in the middle of the market and the buzz of excited punters like me.
