I made it. I unplugged for 24 hours.

Remember my previous post about the challenge to unplug for 24 hours? Well, I DID IT!

To be honest, I was dreading the moment that I had to get offline. My iPhone was on airplane mode before bedtime and I waited till the very last minute before I shut my laptop and went to bed. It was an early start the next day to Royal National Park instead of the lovely Kangaroo Island which I will love to visit one day soon. I had many suggestions from everyone but can’t think of a better way to spend a day unplugged than to spend it with nature. It has been awhile since I’ve done any bushwalking and was glad that Mister arranged the whole activity. It was also the first time that I hung out with his colleagues and being the plus one and the “wife”! LOL

It was a relatively short drive (about an hour) to Royal National Park. We started the coastal walk from the old Garawarra farm to Garie beach. It was not a huge walk but there was elevation on the way back which I may chat more about that in another post. We had to walk through mud and I was thankful for my old hiking boots.

We were hugely rewarded along the way.  The view was stunning and it made me fall in love with NSW a little more ;) Below is a small peak of what nature have to offer.

I did not really prepare any food for the walk as I was out the night before. Mister and I just grabbed whatever that was in the fridge which was stale bagel and Serrano ham. A friend of ours only had a carrot and we gave him a slice of ham to wrap it up! It instantly became a gourmet carrot! Imagine a big man chewing on a carrot wrapped in Serrano ham – Hilarious!

Eating outside

It was such a fun day out and just soaking in what nature had to offer. And that is one thing that you can enjoy on Kangaroo Island. Fill your days with activities and then spend the rest of the day talking about it. We ended up at a local cafe resting and then chatting. There was little desire to grab my phone to tweet but of course, I know that if I can I will.

This challenge is now over for me but you can win a trip to Kangaroo Island for two. All you have to do is to like the Facebook page and enter the competition. I have enter the competition anyway and hope to win the trip! The place looks really amazing and will definitely enjoy taking the time off to unplug.
