Nuffnang food bloggers gathering – Collins Kitchen at the Grand Hyatt

by jeroxie March 1, 2010

What a feast! My need-to-lose-weight-diet was definitely thrown out of the window that evening. I could not help myself. The spread was fantastic and to top it all, great company. So many thanks to Nuffnang and Collins Kitchen for organising this foodbloggers event. More I say!
The executive chef, Jason Camillo took us around the open kitchen and introduce us to its 5 different stations – sushi & crustacean, deli counter, wok, grill & wood fire oven and of course, patisserie. It is all about the food. Most of the produce here is sourced locally and menus are changed once every 6 months.

Gnocchi party and all the amazing contribution

by jeroxie February 28, 2010

I will like to thank to all that came to the party. I feel so humbled by this experience. All of you are super great cooks in your own rights. Beautiful recipes, ideas and amazing photos that makes me just want to lick my screen! All the gnocchi are pillows of yummy-ness and umami-ness.

This is a recap of the umami-high experience that I had while I went through each and every dish. And I think through each dish, it does reflect the personality of each guest and their blogs. This is seriously fun.

Gnocchi party – Gnocchi gnudi

by jeroxie February 28, 2010

I have to admit that I have a slight obsession with the humble gnocchi. It is one of those dishes that I think is difficult to get it right. When I posted a couple of gnocchi recipes previously, the response had been pretty good and so with the encouragement of a small group of food loving friends around the world, we are staging a Gnocchi party.

* Gnocchi Party invitation
* Meatless day challenge – Pumpkin gnocchi with spinach pesto
* Gnocchi with a twist – Mashing potatoes with a plastic bag

Let’s get together for some gnocchi

by jeroxie February 10, 2010

Twitter and blogging has definitely blurred boundaries in many ways. This idea came about from the usual twitter chat with Divina & Christine. It is really inspiring that we can do this despite our geographical and timezone differences. So with the support from Divina and Christine, I created a poll on my pumpkin gnocchi post to get the opinion of what type of theme this party should be based on.

Addictive & Consuming 2009

by jeroxie December 31, 2009

Starting this blog in June was one of the best decisions that I have made in 2009. There was no motive or specific intention or rather what marketers and advertisers call ‘objective’. I just wanted to record what we ate and cooked. Alright, so that is the objective. And along the way, I am very fortuntate to meet very kind and good people. I do feel inapt and the excuses are ‘they are in the industry’ or ‘they have been doing this a long time’. They are just excuses and I just have to admit that I lack serious food knowledge. On the lighter side, it means I have a lifetime of fun and sharing.

Nuffnang Xmas Party 2009

by jeroxie December 21, 2009

A big thanks to Nuffnang for organising this get together with fellow food bloggers. I was glad that I have @jettingjoyce and @Th0i3 with me. But it was very refreshing to meet other bloggers that do not blog about food! It was a good mix of people. I am a food blogger so naturally I took better photos of food than people. I need to brush up that skill though. Now I cannot use any of those ‘people’ photos. And even the food photos did not turn up good. I shall blame it on the numerous glasses of vino that I had that night. Imagine my poor head and I had to work the next day.
