Guest recipe – Olive Oil Chocolate Mousse

by jeroxie September 2, 2010

Olive Oil Chocolate Mousse by Shellie (Iron Chef Shellie)

The silky smooth texture and sweet notes of the Manzanillo make this eggless chocolate mousse a
delight to eat. The olive oil taste isn’t overpowering or strong, it is mellow and just brings the
chocolate and cream to life. ”

Meatless Mondays #33 – Poached pear & chocolate pizza

by jeroxie August 10, 2010

Super sweet tooth this weekend. Maybe it was the macarons that Mister brought back for me from Sydney. Can I just say that Adriano Zumbo is a genius with flavour, balance and texture. Everyone that has a piece of the precious commodity always end up saying ‘OMG! It’s so good.’ The macarons are always the first to go at his shop. If you are in Sydney, make sure you head in before the shop opens.

I was digging through the old Sydney photos and found this. This pinenut millefueille is one of the best cake ever! It looks sickening sweet but it so not. I can’t remember how many layers there are but every layer has a different flavour, different texture. Every layer is like a chapter in a book and together, they told a story. So regret not getting more!

Chocolate indulgence at The Langham, Melbourne

by jeroxie June 9, 2010

I jumped onto the chance for a Nuffnang fashion and food bloggers meet up at the Langham for a chocolate breakfast! It was quite early on a Saturday morning but I jumped out of bed even before my alarm went off. Now that is commitment to chocolate.

Langham is located in Southbank and just a hop and skip across the Yarra River from Flinders Street station. It was a rather cold and foggy winter morning and I am thankful that there is a hint of blue skies when I took this photo.

Happy 1st birthday, Jeroxie

by jeroxie June 8, 2010

I can’t believe that it has been a year since I first penned my first post – Chicken, quail egg & chorizo pie. I feel a little accomplished as I went through the dishes that I have cooked and the places that we have eaten.  Of course there were failures and then there were successes. [...]

Chocolate cheesepots with black cherries compote

by jeroxie May 28, 2010

I am sure many Australians are aware who Donna Hay is. I have never really been a big fan of Donna Hay but in her recent 50th Anniversary edition, I could not help myself but to bake the chocolate cake that was on the cover. Of course, mine did not look anywhere like hers. So I said yes when Mardi of Eat.Live.Write.Travel asked me to participate in a Hay Hay it’s Donna Day event (HHDD) that was initiated by Chez Us, I had to say yes and hoping to redeem myself.

Getting chunky with Ben & Jerry’s

by jeroxie October 26, 2009

I received the cool pack from Ben & Jerry’s and it was quite funny how my colleagues reacted to it. I think I was the most popular person that day. And of course, I had to guard the communal freezer to make sure the ice cream tubs are still sealed and no one had stick their hands into the cookie jar ;)

The Ben & Jerry’s “Rolling Cone’ Kombi is currently roaming Melbourne and giving away free ice cream. Follow it on twitter to find out where the next location is. But you have to hurry because they are leaving Melbourne after the 27th of October and heading back to Sydney.

Lindt Cafe on Collins

by jeroxie September 5, 2009

I was really thrilled to find out that Lindt was finally opening a cafe on Collins Street. The first was opened in Sydney and located in Martin Place (Cnr Phillip Street). Having missed it while I was up in Sydney, I was eager to sink my teeth into lovely chocolate pieces and cakes and see what all the fuss is about.

Chocolate Indulgence

by jeroxie June 15, 2009

Both of us ordered the classic hot chocolate a serving of churros to share. And this must be one of the thickest hot chocolate I have ever had. Just velvety richness from each sip. It was almost as thick as the little chocolate pots that we had to go with the churros. Each mouthful of chocolate-dipped crunchy yet soft churros was just heavenly. And I kept licking the chocolate and icing sugar off my fingers. Just so good!
