I received the cool pack from Ben & Jerry’s last week. I think I was the most popular person in the office that day. And of course, I had to guard the communal freezer to make sure the ice cream tubs are still sealed and no one had stick their hands into the cookie jar
The Ben & Jerry’s “Rolling Cone’ Kombi is currently roaming Melbourne and giving away free ice cream. Follow it on twitter to find out where the next location is. But you have to hurry because they are leaving Melbourne after the 27th of October and heading back to Sydney.
It has been a rather busy week at and out of work. I have to admit that it took a lot of will power to wait till the weekend before I had the first taste. The 3 flavours – Chunky Monkey, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Strawberry Cheesecake tubs came together in the cute cow print cool pack. I felt totally spoilt with choices and did not know which to dig my spoon in first. Check out their website for more yummy flavours.
Ben & Jerry’s ice cream are famous for its creamy texture and big chunky bits. Plus I am very glad to find out that Fairtrade ingredients like vanilla, cocoa, coffee and brazil nuts are used. My personal favourite is the Chunky Monkey. It had a nice banana flavour and I get big chucks of chocolate and walnut with almost every bite. It was hard to stop after one mouthful
The Chocolate chip cookie dough was Mister’s favourite. It feltl like I was biting into chunks of googey cookie dough.
I wish I had more time to be more creative with the ice cream. The thing that I miss from my childhood and Asia is the sandwich ice cream. I made my version with the Strawberry cheesecake flavour. I toasted a piece of white bread, sliced it into half and sandwiched the ice cream in between. I added thin of slices of fresh strawberry just for colour and because it looks great on photo
And just for the additional ice cream porn.
I had so much fun trying all these flavours. And to get some of chunky goodness, Ben & Jerry’s is now availiable in selected deli around Sydney & Melbourne.
If you were to make your own chunky ice cream, what flavour concoction will you have?

ah they bring back memories all right. I remember when I was young, these are the best ice cream back in singapore.
Now there are lots of specialty ice cream places in sg, can’t wait to try them. *winks*
You are such a B&J fan… are you sure you’re not being paid to pimp their creams?
Anyway, my fave flavour when I was living in the US was always Cherry Garcia.
ooh yum!! I have been wanting to try their ice cream for soooo long!!
Look at your neat ice cream quennelles! I was definitely popular when I got my stash too-so I made use of the Euphorilock!
wow, that ice cream sandwich looks so tempting.. good thing that brand’s not available (or maybe it is, I just did not check) where I live, that would be so hard to resist.
@Cruxie Faye – Yeap. They are pretty old skool.
@Billy – Wait till summer. I will start churning out ice cream
@Sarah – And now you can!
@Lorraine – Pity there was no lock this time but I love the cow print cooler bag.
Looks amazing. Love the quenells that you’ve made. I would like to do some cherry and coconut ice cream. That idea just came a few seconds ago. But I need fresh cherries.
Butter pecan has always been my fave – salty, sweet, and crunchy, mmm.
I love Ben and Jerry’s! I’ve had the strawberry cheesecake ice cream and cookie dough several times now. There’s a new flavor out but it’s a limited batch, it is called Ginger Snaps. If you ever come across it, do yourself a favor and buy it!
Love the sandwich! Have to say though I’ve never heard of Ben and Jerry’s just going around and giving out free ice cream like that! I wish they would do that up here but I’m in a small town so highly unlikely… Guess if I want some I need to go buy some
I remember this! Most of our local ice-cream man selling ice-cream with ‘roti kosong’ here…ha ha! But yours looks stunning with that kind of ice-cream…yum!
I just ate some icecream that was far inferior to this. My mouth is now watering all over my desk and through the carpet and underlay. Love the ice cream sandwich… I’ve never seen one made with actual bread!
My chunky ice cream would have chunks of cherry and chocolate and coconut. Oh and another one with chunks of dates and butterscotch. And one last one with chocolate coated macadamias with some toffee. I’ll stop there.
I love Chunky Monkey. The Best!!!!
Oh I love your ice cream sandwich. Shall I tell you how many flavours of B+J I have access to over here and how it’s just around the corner? No? ok then!!!
This is awesome Jeroxie. I loveee ice cream sandwich. Mine is just ice cream and bread. But the strawberry slices are such a great idea. You’re lucky to get all those ice cream. I vote for the strawberry cheesecake!
@Divina – Cherry & Coconut sounds interesting. Please do make them
@Trix – I do love the whole sweet & savoury ice cream. Somewhat addictive.
@Jessie – They do not have as many flavours here. Ughhh! But I am happy with my chunky monkey
@Rochelle – I wish they did special delivery!
@Kristy – Yeap! They will ring their bells – ting ting ting
@Conor – Make your own! Those combinations are making head swirl… I want them all.
@Homegourmet – high 5!
@Mardi – Bahh! There are limited flavours here. I hope they stock up more soon….. ** envious ***
@CheapAppetite – I felt so spoilt… hehehe.
@
Any Ben and Jerry’s works for me. I love it!
I’m sorry to hear that they only have a few flavors
I hope they get more flavors soon so you can try them all!
@joanne – There must be a favourite?
@Jessie – I am hopefully for that too
Chunky monkey is my hubby’s favorite! I like the cookie dough
