Another post in my draft which I just was not sure to post or not to post. Winter has passed and maybe I was too harsh in my initial reaction of this place. I have not been back and have no intention to even though colleagues and friends were saying that I should. I guess what I ate left a really bad taste in my mouth.

The photos below were taken on one lovely Friday winter afternoon. Blue skies and rolling fluffy clouds. Sunny winter days are fantastic in Melbourne. It was a great day to walk around the area. I took some happy snaps just as a reminder of how Melbourne looks like on a nice winter afternoon.

Melbourne CBD in the distance.

How beautiful is the blue sky?

I just like alley ways. How about you?

And now for my horrible experience at Emerald Hill Cafe. I ordered a beetroot and bean salad with cubed feta cheese. It was a simple olive oil and balsamic dressing.

The salad is drenched in oil and the beetroot is discoloured from a nice red as it should be to an almost deep pink. I had to drain the oil first before putting it into my mouth. And even that, it was so bad that my lips were heavily coated with oil. I really hate to waste food. I struggled to get a few more mouthfuls and had to stop.

The staff was really nice and friendly though. Too bad the food did not match up. I left and went round the corner for a curry chicken sushi roll. Lunch was a disaster, isn’t it?

Great Melbourne winter day but terrible lunch choices. It’s days like these that I wish I was working in the CBD.

Will you return the meal? What would you have done?
